Funky Giraffe: REVIEW

Written by Sarah Rowland | Blended Parent Network Contributor

Hi there, firstly I’d like to take a moment in thanking Blended Parent Network on letting my boys and myself get involved with this written review on Funky Giraffe items, we had a lot of fun as you will see in the pictures.

This review involves my 2 youngest boys, Harry who is 27 months old and Cameron who is 15 months old.

I received my items from Funky Giraffe fairly quickly and the items came Royal Mail Signed for which is nice to see, just gives you that little extra piece of mind. I am sure I’m not the first or last person that has ordered items and never received them.

The Opening – I was rather excited as I really didn’t have a clue what items I was getting sent, so I really couldn’t wait to open the parcel. Inside I found 3 different products, all bright colours and all felt very soft to touch.

Item 1This was a Blue Apron £7 (also have a pink and purple option on the website)

This item was amazing! The Waterproof apron fully covered Harry’s clothing, it has long sleeves and a velcro fastening to the back around the neck line. The back is open meaning he was able to move freely without feeling restricted. The lightweight material means it was very comfortable for Harry.

The Apron had to be put into the wash after the first use, we put it on a cool wash and it came up a treat, but do not tumble dry, the apron can also be wiped clean. The age on this apron states 1-6 years but I would say it might be a bit small for a 6 year old, more like 1-4 years. I felt this was a good durable apron that would last a long time, easy to clean and a nice simple design.

Item 2Yellow and Brown Cars, Funky Giraffe Scood £6 (other designs available online)

This item is so bright and eye catching I must admit I fell in love with it at first sight. I have never used one before on either of my boys so was rather excited to see how they would react to it and yes they loved it. The Scoods also have a Velcro fastening and aren’t tight fitted around the neck, it fits nicely under jumpers or coats and is not bulky or heavy.

I really like this design rather than wrapping a scarf around my son’s neck, I feel this is a much safer option. The brushed cotton gives the Scood a really soft feel, this also has been put on a cool wash and came up a treat. The Scoods fitted both my boys with plenty of room to spare.

Item 3A selection of Bandana Bibs £3+ each (singles and packs of 5 or 10 and loads of different designs online, the pack of 10 comes in at £20)

I love Bandana bibs, I have used these on both my boys and I really think they are so handy. These are made from a brushed cotton and a natural fleece, they are super soft and really amazing. The double layer helps to keep moisture locked in from those dribble monsters, I found I had to change Cameron’s Twice in one day which I felt was rather good going considering we are right into the teething stage.

The bibs come in different size’s as well, I would definitely look at the XXL ones for my 27 month old just to give that extra bit of room. The bib’s have a popper fastening to the back of the neckline. These have also been put on a cool wash and yet again come up like new, the colour did not fade and the material didn’t shrink.

In all I was very impressed with the quality and price of the Funky Giraffe products I was sent to review. The website is definitely impressive very eye catching and easy to use and find which items they have on offer. There’s loads of wonderful bright colours and very funky designs.

They have a rather large range of items on offer from bibs to clothing to even baby carriers! (which I might have to now order one). They do offers as well on the bib’s, the more you order the more you save. I would happily recommend Funky Giraffe to friends and family and will be using them in the future.

Many thanks
Sarah and the boys x
